Revamped Refrain Songs

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

I had an awesome rehearsal with my band mates yesterday. We’ve been fine tuning the musical arrangements for the Refrain songs and they sound amazing!

I’m feeling good about how the band is coming together – adding new leads and breaks in the songs, polishing up the rough edges and tightening the sound overall – it’s great to see how hard work plus focus can pay off.

Christina Gavino our cellist will be rockin’ her bad self on the bass for a few of the songs. I know she’s looking forward to embracing the freedom of standing up to play an instrument.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this is going to be our best show yet ;)

Get ready folks. The Refrain DVD / VOD launch party is Sat, March 6th at Burritoville, 2055 Bishop, 2nd floor (across from the Concordia Hall building, metro Guy Concordia). The fun begins at 8pm and admission if FREE!

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

This Saturday at Shaika

Friday, December 18th, 2009

Hi guys,

I know you all must be just about ready to blow a fuse with the holiday chaos in full swing and I was thinking what better way to unwind than at a free show, sipping some hot chocolate and listening to something other than elevator Christmas tunes, you know what I’m saying?

So, write this down – Saturday, Dec 19th at Shaika Cafe (5526 Sherbrooke O, corner Old Orchard). For those riding the BMW: Vendome metro, 105 bus (which will let you off right in front of the place so you don’t have to freeze your tush ;)

p.s. In the spirit of giving, I give you this concert for FREE!

New show, more songs!

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

The band and I have been busy working on our new set for our upcoming show Sat, Dec 19th at Shaika. I’m very pleased to report that the songs are shaping up quite nicely. It definitely helps to be part of team of musicians who share a similar passion for the music while at the same time maintaining a professional work ethic. Christina, Steven and Kam – you’re awesome! Thanks to you I can make the music that I love.

Many of you who were at our first show at Shaika requested that we play more songs and as I aim to please you will be happy to know that this time around we will be performing 13 songs – making that close to double the set length we had for our first show.

Looking forward to seeing you all Sat, Dec 19th at Shaika. And remember we are a band that listens to our fans!

;)
